In China, red pandas live in south-eastern states like the Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. Also, you’ll find them living in Tibet in China. These areas are mostly on high mountains with thick forests around. 

Nevertheless, China forest has lots of bamboos around and these red panda habitats are no exception. The bamboo forests around make this habitat a place where they can call home.

Also, on the IUCN lists of endangered species, these creatures are “critically endangered” species.

Yes, red pandas live in Japan. However, Japan isn’t a native home of the red panda. These creatures only live there under captivity in certain zoos. 

You’ll find them in zoos like Adventure World, Sendai Yagiyama Zoological Park, Tokushima Zoo, and more.

Another popular zoo in the US where the red pandas live is in Knoxville zoo. This zoo is known to have the most surviving cubs than any other zoo in the world.

You’ll find over 110 red pandas in this zoo.

In addition, places like the Berlin Zoo in Germany, also have red pandas. All these red pandas live in these European countries only in captivity, where they’re protected.

You can’t see red pandas living in the wild in Europe.
